About Us
We’re dedicated to you
At Summit Speech & Autism Center, we believe every child deserves a voice—and a team that knows how to help them use it. Founded by Katherine Wallisch, M.S., CCC-SLP, CAS, BCCS, ADHD-CCSP, our center brings together advanced clinical training with deep compassion for families navigating Autism, ADHD, and complex communication challenges. Katherine is a nationally certified speech-language pathologist with specialized expertise in autism diagnostics, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and executive function support for children with ADHD. As a speech pathologist, she helps children with ADHD strengthen their communication, organization, and self-advocacy skills—building the executive function tools they need for school and life.
What sets us apart is our focus on children with the most complex communication needs—including non-speaking children—by using cutting-edge AAC technology to open new doors to connection, independence, and confidence.
Parents will find not only therapy, but a trusted partner who listens, educates, and celebrates every step forward. Whether your child is just beginning their diagnostic journey or ready to explore new communication tools, Summit Speech & Autism Center is here to provide evidence-based care, personalized guidance, and hope for the future.

Services
Your personalized care solutions
01
Autism Diagnostics
We provide comprehensive, evidence-based autism evaluations in close collaboration with your referring providers. Using gold-standard tools such as the ADOS-2, ADI-R, and additional standardized assessments, we ensure accurate, thorough diagnoses that guide meaningful next steps for your child’s care and support.
02
AAC Evaluation
When your child needs support through augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), we provide evidence-based evaluations tailored to their unique strengths. Our process includes trialing multiple devices from leading companies such as PRC, Tobii Dynavox, Forbes AAC, Eye Tech, and more to ensure the best fit. Evaluations are conducted in close collaboration with OT and PT providers, giving your child a holistic plan and the right tools to unlock their voice and independence.
03
ADHD Therapy
For children with ADHD and executive function challenges, we offer therapy that builds the communication and self-management skills they need to thrive at home, in school, and in daily life. Using evidence-based protocols such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy strategies, COGMED Working Memory the SMARTS Executive Function curriculum, and self-regulation frameworks like Zones of Regulation and Goal-Plan-Do-Review, we help children strengthen planning, organization, working memory, and self-advocacy. Therapy sessions are engaging, practical, and designed to give children and families tools they can use immediately—supporting long-term success in academics, friendships, and independence.
04
Occupational Therapy
Because communication and sensory needs are closely connected, we integrate occupational therapy (OT) into our intensive programs for a truly comprehensive approach. Katherine is sensory-trained, bringing valuable expertise in understanding how sensory processing affects communication and learning. To ensure the highest quality, evidence-based care, each intensive speech therapy session is paired with our in-house occupational therapist, who works side by side with Katherine. Together, we address sensory regulation, motor planning, and communication goals in unison—helping your child make faster, more meaningful progress.
05
Intensive 1:1 Therapy
Our intensive therapy model brings expert support directly into your home, the place where your child feels most comfortable and can thrive. We offer 4, 6, or 8-week intensive programs with 1:1 sessions scheduled 3–5 times per week, always paired with parent coaching to ensure real-life carryover. This approach is designed to eliminate the long waits many families face when searching for an insurance-approved therapist—so your child doesn’t miss out on crucial windows for growth. After the intensive program, we guide families in securing the right ongoing care, ensuring that your child continues to receive consistent, evidence-based support.
06
Parent Coaching
At Summit Speech & Autism Center, we believe parents are the most powerful partners in a child’s progress. Katherine is an Internationally Certified Parent Coach, specializing in helping families of children with complex communication needs build skills and confidence at home. She has developed a trademark-pending parent coaching program grounded in the latest evidence-based practices, designed to give parents practical tools that extend therapy far beyond each session. With this guidance, families learn how to create communication-rich routines, foster independence, and support their child’s growth every single day.
What makes us different
Patient-centered care
Families in Park City and Salt Lake already have access to traditional speech therapy, but many quickly discover gaps—long waitlists for autism evaluations, limited options for AAC device trials, or therapy that doesn’t fully address sensory and executive function needs.
At Summit Speech & Autism Center, we bridge those gaps.
What makes us different is our specialized focus on complex communication needs.
We offer gold-standard autism diagnostics, intensive therapy sessions delivered right in your home, AAC evaluations with device trials across multiple leading technologies, executive function programs for children with ADHD, and integrated occupational therapy support. Every service is paired with parent coaching so families leave with tools to continue progress long after each session.
Our mission is simple: to remove barriers, shorten wait times, and bring evidence-based, family-centered care to Park City—so your child doesn’t just receive therapy, but learns to truly connect, grow, and thrive in everyday life.

Reviews
What our patients say about us
"We had been on a waitlist for an autism evaluation for months, and then we found Summit Speech & Autism Center. Katherine got us in right away and gave us a thorough evaluation with clear next steps. She explained everything in a way we could understand and made us feel supported through the whole process. For the first time, we feel like we have a plan and a partner who truly cares about our child."
Emily K., Jeremy Ranch
"My son is non-speaking and we were overwhelmed trying to figure out AAC devices on our own. Katherine trialed several systems with him and showed us how to use them at home. Now he’s requesting what he wants and even saying 'yes' and 'no' independently on his device. It’s been life-changing for our family."
David L., Heber City
"We tried so many therapies before but nothing ever seemed to stick. The intensive sessions with Katherine in our home made all the difference. She coached me through how to support my daughter during routines like meals and play, and we saw progress faster than we ever imagined. It feels like the whole family is part of the team now."
